      Highlights

      • Especially at onset, the diagnosis of SLE can be challenging.
      • In this real-world prospective study, patients later diagnosed with SLE had higher SLE-key scores.
      • Multiparametric autoimmune diagnostics can allow to simultaneously test for a panel of antibodies.
