Does lowering p value threshold to 0.005 impact on evidence-based medicine? An analysis of current European Society of Cardiology guidelines on STEMI

      Highlights

      • P value has been criticized for being a source of misinterpretation and deception.
      • New approaches have been advanced to improve reproducibility of scientific researches.
      • Lowering p value threshold was proposed to reduce rate of false positives.
      • The proposal to lower p threshold has unknown impact on evidence based medicine.
      • Lowering p value threshold to 0.005 has a modest impact on current ESC STEMI guideline.
