Impact of chronic lung disease on long-term clinical outcomes in patients with venous thromboembolism: From the COMMAND VTE registry

      Chronic lung disease (CLD), such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and restrictive lung diseases, has been reported to be a moderate risk factor for the development of venous thromboembolism (VTE) [

      ]. However, there is still limited data on the impact of CLD on long-term clinical outcomes in patients with VTE. The assessment of the impact of CLD on long-term clinical outcomes is clinically relevant in determining the long-term optimal management strategies for these patients. Thus, we aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics, management strategies, and long-term clinical outcomes by comparing the patients with and without CLD using a large observational database in Japan.
