Abstract
A patient with a history of coronary artery disease developed chest pain several hours
after 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) infusion. Electrocardiograms showed signs of ischemia.
Infusion with nitroglycerin provided complete relief from his complaints and normalized
the ECG. The literature shows that coronary artery disease increases the risk of ischemic
episodes after 5-FU treatment.
